A view from the mountain that Hadid is cutting into.
What can we do?
Believe
that something CAN
be done simply because it is right.
Get this in our heads, our hearts, and our souls and hang on to it. We are not only fighting for something that we want, we are fighting for something that we
need.

If Mohamed Hadid holds the title to the land, why do we think we have a chance to keep the mountain and what right do we have to do that?  Why do we think we have a right?

'Industrialization and urban crowding have created a need for public controls to maintain order and promote social harmony. One way to maintain order is to control the use of land.  The two main powers that allow government to control land use are police power and the power of eminent domain.  Police power refers to the constitutional right of government to promote the general health, welfare, and safety of society....'

We do not simply WANT the beauty and solace and exercise activity that this canyon offers, we NEED it.  Cement is hard on our bones.  Gas fumes are hard on our lungs.  Cityscape gets hard on our eyes and our thoughts.  It is a proven fact that nature in it's pristine state is integral to our health.  Most people do not own land that can provide this.
